Originally from Errew, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim Ann immigrrated to England at the age of 16 to be with her older sister Molly and then onto New York in 1939, where she met and wed her husband John J. In 1942. She was widowed in 1974, she moved to a small condo in Sun City Center, Florida where she led an active life until recent years when she went to Maryland under the care of her son Gerald, RN, until his death in December 2009. Ann was a devout Catholic and attended Prince of Peace Church, Sun City Center, Florida. She was a past president of her Andover Condo Association and was a good neighbour and friend to all she met.
Ann was the last surviving child of Margaret Slevin and Thomas Carty of Errew, Carrigallen.

She is survived by her two sons, John, Casselberry, Florida and James, Delaware; daughters-in-law Ellen and Brenda; grandchildren Stacey and Graham; nieces, nephews; grand nieces and grand nephews in Ireland, England and USA. Masses was said in her memory at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Landover Hills, Maryland, where she raised her family and her most recent parish, Holy Name of Jesus in Pocomoke City, Maryland and Prince of Peace, Sun City Center, Florida.
