An English settler family, featuring the infamous Anthony Dopping, the bishop who condemned King William for being leniant to Catholics during the Williamite wars.

Ralph Dopping was the leader of the local crown forces in Longford during the Battle of Granard. He was married to Catherine Smyth of Grousehall which gives us our connection, according to Duignan family tree.
