The Sommers – Hourican family of Pittsburgh, USA

The Houricans were known as Sommers for a while in the 19th century to comply with British law of the time, while most reverted back to Hourican, some kept the Sommers name to the early 20th century, some even to the present day.

Philip Hourican and Margaret (Collumb) Columb emigrated to America in 1922, following their children who went over some years before. Phillip only lived six years.
